For hygiene and safety reasons, I cannot paint their face if a child has:
- a runny nose
- cold sores or any other visible skin conditions
- a rash or eczema
In some cases, a small design on the hand or arm may be offered instead.
What age is face painting suitable for?
Face painting is recommended for children aged 3 and above.
For under 3's, we may offer a small cheek or hand design at the artist's discretion.
How do you safely remove face paint?
The part of face painting which is most likely to irritate the skin is the removal process.
The best way to remove face paint is to use warm water, gentle soap and a flannel.
If any paint remains, use an emollient such as coconut oil or baby oil to gently remove.
Avoid baby wipes, as they can irritate the skin and may not remove paint efficiently.
